Valley View Thrift Store is a great way to support quality education on the Central Coast!
100% of Valley View Thrift profits go to benefit the general budget and special projects at Valley View Academy.
Valley View Academy has served Arroyo Grande and the surrounding community for over 100 years. It is a K-10 Christian school committed to academic excellence and leadership development, located at 230 Vernon St., above the AG Village.
Ever since the 2009 recession, Valley View Academy has seen an increase in worthy students who have difficulty paying full tuition. A coalition of six area churches fund a significant portion of the school’s operating fund and contribute to student scholarships.
To further support the school (in a recession-proof way), we have decided to open a nonprofit thrift store and contribute all of the proceeds to Valley View Academy.
Valley View Thrift will be accepting donations of clothing, housewares, electronics, jewelry, furniture, art, books, and more starting in March 2017.

Obviously, you’ll want to SHOP at Valley View Thrift Store. It’s a great way to get a great deal, save the planet by keeping quality items out of landfills, and fund excellent education on the central coast!
But besides that, what can you do to help?
You can donate valuable items to Valley View Thrift Store:
- Gently Used Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s Clothing
- Jewelry, handbags, and accessories
- Art and decor
- Sporting goods, bicycles, surfboards
- Working electronics
- Small Appliances
- Books, CDs, and DVDs
- Children’s Toys
- Tools and equipment
- Yard art and furniture
Because we’ll be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all of your donations will be tax-deductible. We’ll start taking donations in March of 2017.
And you can even schedule a pick-up for larger items.
We’ll need regular volunteers to pick up, sort, clean, price, tag, and display items. We’ll also need people around who can just be friendly and helpful to customers.
If you feel like you’d like a more active role as a volunteer, you can contact us about becoming part of our Board of Directors. The Board meets every few months and makes larger strategic decisions about the vision, mission, and future of Valley View Thrift Store.
